We’re looking for an experienced VP of Engineering to be part of the company that develops innovative electric bikes for urban riders. We want someone who shares an ambitious vision: to change urban mobility through mass production of high-tech yet affordable electric bicycles.

Founded in 2017, the company's main goal is to improve urban mobility and take commuters to their destination in a more enjoyable, sustainable and efficient manner. Its product has already launched and been introduced to 8 additional countries across Europe. The company plans to recruit 30+ new talent in the next six months, scale operations, and expand its footprint across Europe through its Test Ride and Mobile Service networks.

Key Responsibilities And Activities Include

• Responsible for leading and growing the Electronics, Mechanical Engineering and Powertrain Team
• Take part in decision- making process along with the other members of the leadership team
• Travel to Brussels 3 days a week
• Set the technical vision and manage the product development roadmap
• Create and optimize engineering processes to ensure smooth product delivery
• Develop and manage the engineering budget including product cost
• Design and lead a highly efficient product development process
• Collaborate with industrial designers to create delightful user experiences
• Manage the selection, evaluation, and integration of external resources
• Ensure long-term partnership with suppliers and manufacturer
• Ensure rigor with milestones and schedules, notably product launches
• Evaluate and elevate the teams’ work

Education And Experience Requirement

•  Master’s degree in any engineering field
• At least 10+ of experience, managing cross functional engineering teams
• Background in bringing a technical product to the consumer market (e.g Fitbit, TomTom, Phillips Smart Razors)
• Experience in planning and executing engineering projects, from concept to production
• Extensive experience with hardware design, system architecture and miniaturization destined to high quality products produced globally
• Proven track record of working with and leading dynamic teams
• Familiarity with the challenges of development for high-volume manufacturing, with excellent
• Excellent technical, leadership and communication skills
• Result focused mindset, ability to drive the team to efficiently and successfully release new products
