SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing laboratory technical and strategic support to Sales & Marketing business unit for all RFIC products targeted towards the RF and Microwave markets. It is also required to provide measurement support the RF design, production and QA as requested.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES INCLUDE
- Performing advanced measurements in an RF laboratory at a component level
- Configuring custom bench test setups from diagrams and instructions
- Documenting and reporting collected data in a usable format
- Supporting all Corporate Applications Engineering competitive analysis & bench-marking activities
- Supporting Business Unit Applications Engineering as requested
- Maintaining Applications and Design Engineering lab benches and associated test equipment
- Collaborating with cross-functional Engineering teams on optimizing advanced measurement techniques
- Supporting Design Engineering with RF measurements as requested
- Maintaining an inventory / catalog of Evaluation Kits, test boards, and lab assembly and test supplies
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- ASEE or ASEET preferred
- 5 years related experience in product development laboratory environment (preferably RF IC)
- Demonstrated test and measurement skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong troubleshooting / problem solving skills at a board / component level
- Good interpersonal interaction skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Must be a self-starter, be able to work with minimal supervision
- Experience working with test and diagnostic equipment including, but not limited to, oscilloscopes, vector
- network analyzers, spectrum analyzers and signal generators
- Experience with all RF building blocks including switches, digital step attenuators, PLLs, mixers, and amplifiers
- Strong experience making RF measurements such as S-parameters, harmonics, IP2/IP3, phase noise, and switching/settling time
- Good understanding of commercial wireless standards including GSM through 3G and WLAN
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
