OVERVIEW

We are looking for a Power Management Product Applications Engineer with specialist knowledge in non-isolated DCDC converters. Our client is an innovator and industry leader in charge-pump, capacitor divider and point-of-load DCDC power conversion ICs and PSiP modules.
 
The candidate would be expected to verify and test the performance of devices in a customer application, create customer facing evaluation tools, support customer enquiries and define new products. He/she should have a strong technical background in power electronics and DCDC Point of Load architectures and technologies - preferably with PSPICE and/or SIMPLIS simulation experience.

The position is based out in Reading, UK. This position represents a unique opportunity for the candidate to work closely with an extremely innovative and dynamic team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES INCLUDE
  • Test and verify Power DCDC POL IC and PSiP product behavior in customer applications.
  • Design IC/PSiP evaluation kits for easy customer assessment and adoption.   
  • Work closely with Graphic User Interface (GUI) team to implement intuitive customer interface tools for devices and evaluation kits.   
  • Engage Field Applications, Business Development and Customers directly to facilitate customer adoption and sale of the IC/PSiP product.
  • Work closely with customers to solve technical issues and accelerate design wins
  • Build relations with lead customers, understand market and technical trends and define next generation products. 
  • Provide detailed competitive analysis and insights.  
  • Engage the Advanced Technology groups to accelerate the adoption of disruptive technologies.
  • Reports to Marketing and Applications Director, Power Business Unit
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 3+ years in relevant power management customer support, applications experience.  
  • Strong technical background in Power Management semiconductor and/or module products
  • Comprehensive bench-skills and use of test and debug equipment
  • Knowledge/expertise in LabView
  • Knowledge/expertise in PSPICE and/or SIMPLIS simulation
  • Responsive, self-driven and directed, with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communications skills to interact with customers and internal teams
  • Ability to solve complex customer problems within customer timelines
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS


This job operates in a professional office environment within present Covid guidelines. It is anticipated that a large portion of time would be spent with customers and on customer premises. Travel is likely to be west coast US but occasional WW travel may be necessary. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
