JOB TITLE: SALES/BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER (Home-Based)

Key Responsibilities And Activities Include

  • Typically, the Sales/BDM works from home and possibly works 2-3 days per week in the field, visiting customers, progressing sales enquiries, servicing existing customers etc. The remaining time is spent dealing with all actions arising from such visits, planning future visits, managing projects, liaising with technical support staff and Applications Engineering in France and telephone sales/technical support.

  • The primary requirement is for the Sales/BDM to develop stable business against set targets.

  • The Sales/BDM is in total control of his/her designated area, managing existing accounts, identifying new potential customers/projects, producing all written proposals, preparing sales presentations, and for the generation of quarterly rolling orders forecasts. The Sales/BDM will report directly to the Managing Director.

  • The Sales/BDM is expected to be able to communicate within an organisation at all levels, both vertically (senior management through to junior level staff), and horizontally (engineering, purchasing, QA, production, sales). Importantly, the Sales/BDM will interface with senior engineers from diverse industries (Medical, Industrial, Transportation, etc...), and must be able to quickly understand their requirements, and gain their respect and commitment.

Education And Experience Requirements

  • Preferably degree/HND qualified, but as a minimum a higher education qualification in electronics
  • At least 3+ years experience in the electronics industry
  • Demonstrated successful track record
  • Knowledge in SMPS (switch-mode power supply, DCDC, ACDC, low power, high power up to 10-20KWatts)
  • Presentable, articulate, numerate, and literate (handwriting and computer)
  • Clean driving license
  • Experience in both a design and sales capacity
  • Working knowledge of analogue electronics theory
  • Previous experience in design, specification, use, or sales of switched mode PSUs OEM background
  • Must have permission to live and work in France
