High Bridge, US

Overview

We’re looking for an experienced PCB/Mechanical Designer to be part of a major supplier of critical power conversion technology to the medical, technology, industrial, and defence markets in High Bridge, New Jersey.

As a PCB/Mechanical Designer, you are responsible for multi-layer, SMT and through hole PCB design using PADS. This position includes 30% to 50% Mechanical Design using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.  This position works with Electrical, Mechanical, Product Data, Purchasing, and Production departments

Key Responsibilities And Activities Include
  • Layout multi-layer, SMT and through hole boards with guidance from Electrical Engineers

  • PCB design packages that include schematic capture, symbol creation, placement, connection, netlist, BOM generation, artwork and production documentation using PADS

  • Interface with Electrical and Mechanical design staff for design development and solving board level related issues

  • Update/Revise existing designs as required

  • Create component library schematic symbols and component land patterns

  • Maintain library of electronic components used in designs

Education And Experience Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in electronic design and electronic packaging using PCAD, PADS, Altium, or similar CAD tools

  • Concentrated experience and/or educational background in engineering

  • Strong understanding of circuit board design and manufacturing techniques

  • Good knowledge of SMT PCB layout, package sizes and design criteria required

  • Proficient in Mentor Graphics

  • Mechanical design capability using AutoCAD or SolidWorks

  • Proven skill in Multi-Layer, Schematic Capture, Gerber, DXF, and/or ODB++

  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, assembly, and product specification drawings

  • Excellent written and verbal communication
