We’re looking for a well experienced, talented Engineering Technician to be part of the major supplier of critical power conversion technology to the medical, technology, industrial markets in High Bridge, NJ. As an Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to the design and testing of high voltage power supplies. Uses schematics, sketches, or verbal instructions to set up tests and experiments. With engineering support, can design basic circuits, organize recorded data, and write reports. Must be able to inspect and debug circuits, test their functions and limits, make repairs, and recommend changes to improve performance.
Key Responsibilities And Activities Include
- Support engineers in verifying electronic circuits and components
- Assemble, disassemble, and modify product prototypes and troubleshoot electrical circuits down to the component level
- Solder and rework fine pitch SMT components
- Assemble bread-boards and test fixtures
- Provide documentation for ECNs
- Assist with compliance, stress, qualification testing and reporting
- Perform other duties as assigned
- An Electrical/Electronic diploma from an accredited program is required
- 5+ years of work experience in the electronic industry, preferably with power supplies
- Comfortable working with voltages up 500kV. High voltage experience is not necessary; training will be provided
- Familiarity with CE testing and requirements
- Experience with a variety of lab equipment and power tools
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to multitask and shift priorities as needed
- Willingness to work flexible hours on occasion
- Limited travel may be required
