Application Security Engineer

San Diego, California

OVERVIEW

We are looking for a passionate, creative, and proactive Application Security Engineer in San Diego, California! You will help design and build scalable, secure, and reliable systems and applications using best-in-class technologies and platforms. You should have in-depth knowledge and experience in cloud security, incident response, automation, and development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES INCLUDE

• You will develop and optimize the security tools used throughout the platform infrastructure and contribute to the overall security strategy across the organization.
• You will research and analyze potential new threats, attack vectors and risks and identify mitigation efforts.
• You will examine output from security tools and software and report on findings.
• You will also collaborate with engineering teams to provide feedback on products and development environments.
• In this role you will work with cyber analysts and security engineers to develop threat models, detections, incident response playbooks, and maintain tooling to enrich security intelligence.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Experience writing software in one or more languages such as Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, or C++
• Working knowledge of infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines
• Deep hands-on security experience with cloud providers, such as AWS
• Understanding of automated security testing approaches and tools
• Experience with proactive integration of security into the development process
• Well experienced in Docker, K8s and AWS environment
• Ability to quickly troubleshoot production issues using tools such as DataDog and Splunk
• Pentesting experience
• Comfortable with configuration management tools (e.g., Chef, Puppet, Ansible)
• Experience with SOAR, CASB, DLP technologies
