OVERVIEW
Our client in Irvine, CA, is a fabless semiconductor company focused on developing innovative Analog and RF components necessary for simplifying the design of next generation wireless products. With antennas, beamformers, and other Analog/RF ICs, they are driving to become the premier supplier for 5G, True5G millimeter wave, and all future wireless devices. This is an exciting time to join a start-up company, chaired by one of the biggest names in the Semiconductor industry who was the CEO for a well-known semiconductor company that sold for billions of dollars.

THE ROLE
The Senior Antenna Application Engineer will be working with engineering internal team and customers to implement antenna solution into sophisticated wireless module devices. Some expected tasks of the job entail performing antenna system level analysis, antenna and passive RF circuit design and test development. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES INCLUDE
• 5G mmWave and sub 8GHz application antenna design support for compliance to industry standards and customer production robustness
• Antenna evaluation board design, testing and test report creation
• Verification and evaluation of products in development for compliance to device and system level requirements
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolution of antenna production issues
• Working with customers and internal teams to define device level requirements and perform system tradeoff analyses
• Frequent on-site supports are required to achieve successful design-wins.
• Antenna performance testing/optimization and understanding the trade-offs of antenna performance and limited module space.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Industry experience which should include experience in 5G mmWave and/or sub 8GHz antenna design, prototype building, antenna tuning and measurement.
• Experience working within a customer-facing role.
• Experiences in antenna design and PCB layout software including HFSS, CST, ADS, MatLab, Altium, Auto-CAD, PCB Gerber file viewer such as Allegro Physical Viewer and ViewMate etc.
